Join our Team at Kelly Construction as AN Accountant!

Job Type: Full-Time, Remote Working Option available

Reports To: Vice President of Finance

Position Overview:

Kelly Construction is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accountant to manage the financial operations of our growing home construction and land development business. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction accounting, job costing, and vendor management, and will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and effective budgeting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable

  • Perform job cost accounting and tracking of construction project expenses

  • Prepare monthly and year-end financial reports

  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities

  • Manage and reconcile bank accounts and credit card transactions

  • Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory filings (e.g., sales tax, 1099s)

  • Collaborate with project managers to review project budgets and variances

  • Communicate with vendors and subcontractors regarding billing and payment inquiries

  • Support audits and coordinate with external CFO as needed

  • Assist with financial transactions with our development projects

  • Oversee construction loan portfolio

  • Assist with closing reconciliation when homes sell

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 3+ years of accounting experience (construction industry preferred)

  • Proficiency in construction accounting software

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and job costing principles

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred:

  • Experience with construction draws

  • Familiarity with lien waivers and subcontractor documentation

  • CPA or working towards CPA a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
